Keg List

Lately it seems as if everyone has a seasonal beer out. For the fall we have Oktoberfest and Pumpkin beers available. Oktoberfest are generally amber in color, malty and have carmel and toffee flavors. Pumpkin beers.....well you can probably guess that one. This is the biggest time for seasonal beers (almost everyone does some sort of fall beer release) so instead of focusing on the obvious, I thought I would introduce you to a couple you normally don't see.

First off is the Imperial Stout
from the Left Hand Brewing Company out of Longmont Colorado. This beer is DAAAARK. They call it an unfiltered Russian Imperial Stout. I call it yummy. Roasted malts and tons of hops offer a nice balance to the hints of raisins, black licorice, coffee and dark chocolate.

Next is the Sierra Nevada Anniversary Ale. For years this beer has only been available at the Sierra Nevada brew pub in Chico California to celebrate the founding of the brewery in 1980. After ever increasing demand, they decided to make this available to the rest of the country as their fall seasonal. If you like the pale ale, give this a shot. Using the signature hop found in the pale, they produce this "American Style IPA that has a big, fragrant pine and citrus aroma balanced by the pale and carmel malts."

Samuel Adams Hallertau Imperial Pilsner. If you want hoppy this ones for you. A beer like this makes you wonder if the brewer has lost his hop tolerance and just kept adding them until he could taste something. "Brewed as a showcase for the hops, this bold brew highlights spicy, citrus flavors and aromas."
